Hmmm. Having a very bad week but today has gone from bad to worse.
Have been looking forward to going to the Northern All Welsh show at Selby tomorrow. Bearing in mind i havent done a ridden class in 8 years, my section d has only ever done one small class so we are in desperate need of some ring experience and they are running a true novice class.
Took my saddle to get altered/ widened at the end of Jan. Rung up on Tuesday and was told it was being collected on Thursday they would post it back to me Friday and I would get it Monday. Negotiated a days holiday at work for today so I could collect it and have it back intime for the show. I rang yesterday to tell them not to post it I would collect it.Yes no problem I was told.
Set off for a 3 hour drive first thing this morning- got there ( only got lost once) saddle hasn't come back from altering. £50 diesel wasted plus a days holiday lost.
3 hours drive home and managed to borrow a saddle off a fabulous friend (thanks dizzydora!)
Start to get things ready. Tried saddle on - perfect fit! Whoop whoop. New bridle however didn't. Not a problem have his old one still.
Took him out in the field to test ride the saddle- decide I may like to keep this saddle. Then quest goes on strike. Getting dark by this point so am hoping it's just because he feels he should be in bed with the others. Managed to coax him to do a bit more trot but didn't push for canter.
Charger Lead has gone missing on the small clippers. You guessed it switched them on- dead.
Only other little clippers we have are the ones my mum uses on dads head. Wonder if he'll mind if I "borrow" them in the morning?
Come home start cleaning tack and getting my stuff together tried on my outfit- jacket, gloves, breeches, hat, shirt- check. Boots (only worn once 8 years ago and stored away) as soon as I put them on I could feel the blisters forming. Hmm. Mum very kindly offers to soften them for me. Then both - yes both heels decide to drop off.....good job we have plenty of hot melt glue sticks. Hopefully they will make do for one class.
I really am hoping that tomorrow is not going to be such a disasterous day. Am I destined to not go??
Thank you for listening to me ranting. Lol xx
Well done if you've made it to the bottom of this message.
