Forwardness in trot help

hi i have a rising 5 year old whos got locking stifle problem :/ when i ride her shes nice and forward in walk i ask for trot and trots a couple of stides and says no cant do it and goes back to a nice walk ..im a bit unsure what to do as its either her locking stifle playing up or shes been lazy, her saddle got checked a month ago and her back and everything is fine any suggestions i would be greatful

Well only you and your vet know the full situation of your pony. In my experience (and I had one who eventually had to have both stifles operated on and already had some arthiritis of the joints) he was totally fine in between lock ups, only now a little stiff in them but always forward going.

So if others' experience is the same as mine, we don't know what to suggest.

We had a pony with a similar problem but it was more in her hocks and that never affected her trotting but seeing as it isn't the same I cant really comment :/ hope you get some answers soon
