On various occasions a long, carefully thought out post I've put up in answer to something or other has disappeared for no apparent reason - one went today. Write it, post it, is it there? No. I'm now beginning to wonder if this coincides with the daily back up at about 7.30 am, and if so if there is anything you can do to stop this happening?

I've had a similar problem and try and remember to copy the entire body of my reply before I post then I can just paste if it fails.

It does happen when the Angry Bear is around And also when I lose my mobile connection - most annoying as replies take so long to type on a phone. but obviously not Proboards or HG's fault. I've never experienced problems around the time of the morning backup - just sometimes frustration when I have a few minutes spare for a quick browse before leaving for work, and I can't get on.

yep me too. There was a comment on a thread the other day saying the only way this can happen is if the original poster removes or admin.

Certainly not this arragorn - they never get there in the first place.
nici - I don't understand enough about the workings of the internet re forums to know if anything could or couldn't be done about it, that's why I asked. If I sent an email to someone whose computer /phone is off they still get it when it goes back on, why shouldn't the forum?
I will just have to try to remember to copy my posts before putting them up then as ladyndibs suggested.
