please correct me if im wrong. but as i see it. Mr R. Sutcliff is judging the R.I M&M workers at NPS scotland NCPA derby spring Midland Counties and NPS AREA 4. I concider these shows to be all in the north? could they not find anyone else to judge? Is it just me that finds this ridiculous??

yes you are correct and frustratingly we own a 147cms highland worker and were looking forward to having a go at the rihs m&m whps under the new rules 2012 however we bought our highland from Russell and so are unable to compete under him and yes, we live in the north of england under nps rules, judges are able to judge only two qualifiers

A judge may only judge TWO qualifying rounds for the NPS RIHS M&M WHP competition each year.
If these schedules have all been published for 2012 you should contact NPS office - but perhaps some are still on websites although they are from 2011?

The judge should have refused if he was duplicating classes and if he was of any value/principals once he had accepted one major show/ or a show within an area he should have gracefully declined. I remember years ago we had the same problem with the same judge over and over again and it just wasnt worth entering, its not the shows fault but the judge for accepting. then again some people like to feel important and love to see their name in print- its a power thing.

I think judging two qualifiers of the same class is one too many, four is just ridiculous.

jeanslater - before you jump on the judge's integrity perhaps it would be better to wait until these are confirmed facts.
Quite often shows fail to mention all the facts (or even classes!) when booking judges - eg "can you judge NPS M&M WHP classes?" Not "can you judge RIHS M&M WHP classes?" and letters confirming your appointments can also be rather vague.
I have never known NPS to pass proof schedules allowing judges to exceed the number of qualifiers allowed for each section so perhaps this is not in fact the case.
elmere - the rules for judging RIHS qualifiers are 2 per year for several sections & often judges do the alternate phase if they are invited to officiate twice.

Having contacted NPS this morning, they are aware of the problem & it is being dealt with - unfortunately it was not picked up at the proofing stage.
(Not sure that the NPS Scotland show is actually an RIHS qualifier as the schedule doesn't state this.)

Janet, NPS Scotland Show 7-4-12 is listed as having a RIHS M&M WHP qualifier on NPS website

i may be wrong but did this judge not judge at the "royal" HOYS flat classes when it all went pear shaped and the wrong pony qualified and all the marks were wrong etc -

bigmama - the lady in the office just wasn't sure & I have now looked at the schedule on the internet & it is a qualifier - even worse that 4 shows were missed at the proofing stage in that case!
