Is there much difference in them and what would you recommend?
Thanks

Have used them both and find them very similar - personally we got the John Whittaker because we found it easeir to change fit on it but also because it was cheaper and comes with a roller as well.

Just bought a John Whittaker and thrilled with it and the roller is fab. I think you would be hard pushed to adjust it to fit a 12 hh though.

I bought a pessoa from robinsons and found it really good. I have used it on small ponies too.

have a pony size proper pessoa, they do come in 2 sizes had a fae one which did the jobbut did allow them to lean on the bit as no pulleys defieating the self carraige training, sohappier now have the real deal, i use a half roller with any size girth attached x

Hi again folks thanks for the advise. Just another question with the actual lines used on the systems do you adjust the size of them to fit a pony? I have seen the pessoa comes in pony size and the jw is one size fits all and just trying to imagine how the ropes fit. Thanks in advance x

I have had whittaker for years and used on ponies the lines shorten to fit ponies although there is quite a bit of excess which I just tie up if the roller is too big you could pad out with thick numnah polly pad my ponies have both been 12.2 and has fitted them correctly

Derby house do their own version I Paid £45 for it and the roller is great, good if you are only using it for one horse as its a bit of a faff to alter it but an excellent alternative!

Thanks everyone. I got the JW and got extra holes punched into roller. Lines had to have a couple of knots it but its a great job.

I have the John whittaker training system and use it on my daughters 11.2hh pony and my 15hh cob, i have a different coloured electric tape for each pony and just adjust it to them depending on who is using it.
