Quick question if my horse is a 56" normal girth what size dressage girth would i need ?

measure them! i had a nightmare trying to fit one to my mare i also guessed and got it mega wrong

Depends on length of girth strap, you need to measure as buckles can interfer with the elbow. I too got an estimated measurement wrong.

The guide is 20" shorter than your current girth. But realistially you want it to reach to just underneath the numnah, so the buckles don't interefere with the elbows.
My horse wore a 46" long girth and has a 22" Dressage girth buckle to buclke. Although the leather extends past the buckles and is about 26" long.
I'd look at a range of 30" to 36" if I were you. Obviously depends on the girth style and saddle style.
