How do you teach you're pony to do gallop in you're show? I hack out 2-3 times a week and we go for a good old gallop, I've tried to get him to gallop in the school which he does well after a few goes. But when we get into the show ring, there is no chance for a gallop in my show. Can anyone help me?

well, why don't you hire a gallops track somewhere and then try galloping him! (you shouldn't really gallop in a paddock) and if he's just simply not listening to your leg aids, try having a schooling whip and gently tapping him when he doesn't listen.

My heavy weight cob couldn't get the message about galloping in the show ring. Then I was told 'Use your voice if she is confused' My goodness what a difference - As we came of the corner I would say 'Go Treacle Go !!!'(Rather strongly and enthusiastically) After of course practicing using the same format and words every time and anywhere we asked for a gallop. It worked fantastically for me and my girl so Good Luck.

I use my voice and found lunging and then opening him up down the long side of an arena worked for me and got him going forward from behind alot easier

Scroll through here. You will find it's heaving with suggestions on this very topic, some of which came from me. (I'm a coach and one of the few BHS/BSPS Accredited Trainers - and with 40odd years pro experience behind me, before I get jumped on!)

Just never say "Come on Barbie lets go party" when cantering my mare You need space and then they can really open out once they get it you can shorten the distance you need to practise for shows.
