Okay, I give up. I've got one cat who refuses to have his wormer tablet with anything. Tried meat, cheese, clotted cream, butter but to no avail, he just spits it out. No good to suggest spot on either as he is a demon to hold for that and will rip your arms off, same as trying to shoot it down his throat with one of those special syringes. He is a semi tame feral, hence the attitude!!
Any suggestions welcome!!

I had this problem with my old cat, only thing I can suggest is, drop a towel over him and wrap him tightly as you pick him up, so that just his head is visible. Then you need a helper, as you put your thumb in between his back teeth to hold his mouth open, you pop the pill as far down as you can get it. then hold the mouth closed and rub the throat till you feel them swallow! Then you let them go and suffer the dirty looks and swearing. Oh and if you're lucky they don't cough it up again.

Already tried opening his mouth, nearly lost a few fingers and he spat it out again!

Do you not wrap him up in a towel and use a tablet dispenser its a long thing you put down their throat, that's the only thing we coud do with out mental moggie

Tried the tablet dispenser but even with the tablet cut in half it was too bulky to work properly.

Having managed to get him to have one half last night we have had to throw the other half after trying everything we had in the house. Final stage was crushing it and putting it in his feed but he has chosen to go without!
Pate is my next choice when I get another tablet.

I have started using the verm-x biscuits and my cats love them, they get two biscuits a day every day, works out a bit more expensive but takes the hassle out of trying to get a tablet down them, just hoping it works ok. I got some off the internet £14 inc p&p for 2 tubs with 120 biscuits in each so @ 2 per day works out at £3.50 per cat a month If you dont want to go down the herbal route there also the droppers you can worm them with on the back of the neck like the flea stuff

Profender Spot On works well. Applied to the back of the neck very easily.

I've wormed 3 feral kittens today, I managed to do it by, wrapping up in a towel one opening mouth, tablet in, and holding shut for about 5 mins cause even if they won't swallow it dissolved. Someone to help you may be good! Towel is good also as they can't scratch Hope this helps!

We wrap up in a towel, lie on back, open mouth and pop them straight at the back of their throat, close mouth and stroke throat until they swallow. One of our boys is on 6 tablets a day at the moment to fight of a nasty infection in his leg, they're big capsules as well bless him...

why do you want to worm him? does he have worms??
I only worm mine if the occasion calls for it, or if the vets says I should, in which case I ask him to do it.... If he's so against it, why put him through it??
