Looking to buy a new fly rug and was wondering what makes people recommend. Looking of one with combo neck, shoulder pleats and belly cover. Pony doesn't suffer from sweet itch or midge bites, just needed to keep sun and flies of coat. Seen Shire make and a few others have the ear holes attached to end of neck to help keep neck in place. Does this work and is it comfortable for them to wear ? Thanks.

I bought some of these last year from Derby House & they are great - the necks are long enough for them to eat without pulling on the ears, I used mine with a fly mask aswell so the majority of the pony was covered!

I have a mark todd one like this although does not have ear holes, it has a head collar loop on the top tho and it seems to do the trick!
I did buy one size bigger than required though as I didn't want it too tight

ditto S&O, although Premier Equine REALLY need to start making smaller sizes!!!!

I had a thread on this subject a few weeks ago and got some good advice on here.
Ended up buying a Mark Todd ultra which is fine and good broad fit, though a bit warm perhaps in mid summer temperaturs and a Premier Equine SuperLite fly rug (new for 2012) which is really feather light and UV reflective although not cheap at £79.99.
Can recommend both.

I use the airflow kool coats. Easy to wash! And keep from any sun bleaching.
