Hey guys. lately i've noticed i keep letting my reins slip, but its only when i use double reins and its only the snaffle rein i seem to lose. Does anyone have any tips on how to keep my reins?

Rubber reins do not slip as much & the thicker the rein the easier to hold - also the reins with the little 'slits' are easier to hold: cannot remember the name sorry!

We use a set with rubber one side, leather on the other which seems to help my son with rein slippage. Are you wearing grippy gloves too? Decent gloves can also help.

Aah laced reins yes that's it!
At Equifest this year in the down pour we had to take to slightly thicker rubber reins (looked fine as were Havana & not too thick!) as the reins kept slipping.

I always wear gloves to ride and they are decent gloves as I trash the cheap ones in minutes. My snaffle rein is plaited so surely this should make it easier to grip, I mean my bottom rein is just smooth leather and I hold those fine. I think I will have to try the knot method until I can find some rich rubber one side Thanks guys!

Try putting a plaiting band where you normally hold your reins, it is discreet but effective
