Hi all, I am having a nightmare searching for a pony that is local!!! Is it me or are most ponies for sale up north or situated anywhere apart from the south east!! My problem is I have already had several waisted journeys travelling up to 5 hours and then the pony not being what they say to get you there! I drove all the way to Shropshire & really thought this pony ticked all my boxes after several conversations, pictures etc and when I got there he was unsound due to bruising on his feet but supposedly had never had laminitas!! After dragging 2 kids half way across the country I felt really gutted and wish now I would have said to the owner but like you do when you are polite you say I'll let you know! Anyway if there are any local people to Kent with any ideas then plea mail me or see my wanted addmon here!!!! Thanks for listening to my moan I couldn't geton the live chat!

Most of the nice safe ones for sale do seem to be miles away from Kent but also if you are looking for a show quality lead rein/ FYFR super safe type they are hard to come by and seem to sell very quick . Where in Kent are you ? Im near Maidstone

You would think in this market you could find something but like i said safe genuine kiddies ponies who are show quality are like hens teeth . I think they often get passed on without being advertised as well . A friend of mine sold her daughters first pony a couple of years ago , a genuine safe 15 year old lead rein /first ridden sec a and the phone did not stop ringing when she advertised him . Good luck with your search , at least if you are not rushing into anything you shouldnt end up with an unsuitable pony .

Thanks there's def a north/south divide with pony availability! It has even crossed my mind to buy with out viewing off videos & just getting vetting done but I'd be too afraid incase i ended up with a mon-returnable head case! Does anyone no people that have done this?? Or just thinking down same street there could be a niesh in the Market for trying out horses for people!!!

I wouldnt buy a ridden pony without going to see it first you dont know what you could end up with . Is there nothing on horsequest , I know there is plenty on there that i would like if we were looking but depends on if they are as described and what your budget is .

Just had a look on Horsequest and you are right there is nothing in the south east that ticks all your boxes . My daughter has 3 ponies but now she is off the lead she only rides one at the mo as the others are not really suitable for a small nervous jockey . The pony she rides is probably not as good quality as the other two but is so genuine that taking her to shows is enjoyable as i dont have to keep worry that pony is going to muck about . Funny thing is we bought this pony untried at Fayreoaks sale in wales but the other two we went and tried are to much for her at the moment [one was bought as a lead rein ] . Maybe just concentrate on getting something really safe and not worry to much about it being show quality . At local level it wont matter so much anyway .
