I hope you get your pony Nursery and your husband doesn't give you any hastle.
My hubby does not get on with pony - says pony hates him. I do think that if he thought I would take any notice he would try and get me to get rid of him but I pay all ponies bills so he has no say in it.
If I had to chose I would change my hubby before I got rid of our pony.
I pay all costs for pony and work part time term time only so don't earn a lot but ponies don't need to cost a fortune. I am sure with 3 jobs you will be able to manage and as you already have had ponies you know how long they take.
Good luck, will keep my fingers crossed for you.

Hi Nursey
I hope you get your OH sorted. Fishing isn't necessarily a cheap hobby either! The cost of some of the rods and equipment is mad! My thoughts are you only live once and if its what you want to do and have worked your socks off to get to the point where you can do it then go for it. You dont have to affilliate, just do local things and have some fun, Wish you were closer you know you could have had the use of one of mine!!
Don't be too harsh on Nursey, I have met her and her lovely daughter and they deserve a break XX

Karen!! bless you, now i am in tears, that is so nice of you. You are a very kind person! We really do deserve a break, sorry don't seem to sound like a moaning minne just fed up. com today!! Should just be grateful for what we have got I know and i am, honestyly, but when my precious daughter is facing yet another season on the sidelines and has cried herself to sleep quite a bit of late it is proving tough to be positive.

Nursery when it is our children that are hurting it is natural that you are fed up. All you want to do is make her happy. You sound a loving mum who works hard and you deserve a break, I do hope a break comes you way very soon.
Hugs to you and your daughter.

Nip it in the bud - nursey . So glad I put the time and effort into schooling Mr Flee when I first acquired him as a youngster !Now a veteran ,he can be a bit of a face puller but generally ameniable and well behaved and knows who's in charge . Consistant handling and training pays off in the end nursey .Correct any pushy or bolshy behaviour immediately in a quiet but firm manner - lots of praise but easy on the treats .What starts off as trivial/cute can easily escalate until he's trampling all over you . Or you could try threatening him with the knackerman .
NB -Have you considered getting yourself a youngster to bring on ?

I wonder if it is not the just the money but the time as if you have three jobs and have to look after a pony as well children then there would be little time left for him and you to spend together?
You mention that the pony would be on part livery but I don't see how £200 a month would cover the part livery as well as all the livery and extras that ponies need especially if you plan to compete and need a trailer or horsebox as well.
Maybe you need to work out how you much you think it would cost and do a little spreadsheet to show your husband how you could afford it and also have the time, but I think you have to be realistic and not think the minimum costs will always apply.

hs i do see your point but the reason why I am doing three jobs is to save money for a pony. Two of the jobs are temporary so i could always drop one. Fortunately also my main job is as school nurse so it is term time only, so time is never going to be a problem. I have done a tot up of all costs and have come to a compromise with my hsuband and we intend to crack on with paying off bills over next two to three months and then i will be on hunt for pony again!! In the meantime i will get my daughter to as many riding lessons as possible to build up her riding skills and confidence and hopefully there might be someone in area who needs LR jockey. Also very kind person on HG has said that my daughter can ride one of her ponies from time to time, so for that i am very grateful, thank you Mermaid. Thanks to all the people who have offered kind words, it means a lot!!!
