I'm really new to this board so here goes. My dad owns a registered CKCS bit*h who is 6 years old. The problem is she's constantly itching, scratching & rubbing herself. She's flea'd regularly & bathed but this doesn't help. Anyone any ideas?? Could it be an allergy??

id say something skin wise tbh - a visit to the vets would definately be in order!! has she any bald patches or red/inflamed skin?? definately vets tho imo!

No, no bald patches or red or sore skin. She doesn't itch to the point of making herself raw but seems to be always itching somewhere, she rugs her ears of the floor a lot or the edge of the sofa x

Could it be diet related? Sometimes food allergies can cause skin irritation. Your vet could test, or you could try her on a 'free from' type diet and see if it makes a difference?

The thing is my dad spoils her by feeding her cooked chicken or beef & now she won't touch anything else not even dried dog food, probably this is part of the problem.

How about just giving her chicken and plain rice? Also with you saying about her rubbing her ears, has your vet checked for ear mites? You can get drops to put in which would clear them up.
