just asking advice on which colour / kind of show jacket to buy. My daughter started riding last year and we think we might try some local shows this year. We have a 12.2 chestnut Section B. Any help gratefully received thanks

I suppose it depends on the colour of the pony. Mine is bay and I have a brown tweed, which I think would look nice or one with a godly colored base. Not quite sure though

Green tweed is lovely with a chestnut. If you go with someone like mrs Candy she is very good at advising with colours.

If you're going to be doing local level shows I'd shop round for a second hand tweed, they can be pretty expensive to buy new and children have a habit of growing! You can pick up some lovely ones s/h and they often haven't had much wear./

I would definitely go for green tweed.

Certainly a tweed rather than a blue jacket as they are far more versatile (can be used in lots of different classes at local shows). Take a look at a few photographer web sites like "fred the cat" "equinational" "ES Photography" - cannot think of any others at the mo (brain freeze!!) but when I first started out I managed to gleem loads of useful info on correct bitting, tack, dress etc from these! Best of luck.
