It will come in time... Lungeing in a Pessoa will help to get the horse moving correctly and will start to work the muscles needed to work that way as at present it won't have muscle in the right places. Don't do too much too soon either and make sure the horse is well worked in before asking anything new of him

the pony will have to be working correctly from behind to acheive this , you should be doing lots of transitions walk-trot , trot -walk , and leg yeilding to help soften . riding a small circle at each corner of the school can be helpful. try sponging only the inside rein while keeping a contact on the outside rien. do you have an instuctor ?

Good advise there Jaimie. Lots of transitions is what she needs, I would also try figure of eights and serpentines, to get a good balanced horse

Agree with the replies above, lots of walk/trot, trot/walk transitions will help to get the pony's back end working properly. If you sort the back end out , the front will sort it's self out definately no 'quick fix' gadgets

Get yourself sorted out with a good instructor. They'll be able to tell you exactly what you and your pony need to do.

i would try the pessoa long and low twice a week and get her back working, or long rein as easy and all you need is two lunge lines. when she is working properly from behind her head will drop

I would suggest that you get yourself an instructor to not only show you how to work your horse correctly to achieve the outline you are looking for, but to also show you how to use a Pessoa as they are not an easy too to use and can cause more harm if you use without knowing what you are doing A Pessoa is a training aid to help the horse work long and low, and to engage their hind quarters encouraging working forward and into the bridle. Sorry but as you have also posted on how to get an arched neck on your horse I really do think you need to get yourself some lessons

Echo above, you need an instructor.
I could not get on with a pessoa and my mare couldn't either. You should also have lessons in how to lunge correctly.

What does your teacher say? Is she qualified?

please dont be tempted to squeeze reins and force her head in . a proper outline can only be established when you horse is working from its backend.
i would forget about hwere her head is for now and get her using her backend properly. transitions, figure of 8, circles, shallow loops. and give her a long rein to reward her and give her short breaks - this will really encourage her to stech down and cover more ground too.
only when your horse has more energy from behind will she find it easier to "bring her head in". also as she is not used to , be prepared for it to take sometime and remember to work in and cool off properly.
my horse is cobby (welsh D) and its taken around 6 months to get to the stage that he can work for around 20 mins on a good outline and before he does it takes me around 20 mins to warm up. lateral excersises and a good instructor have helped hugely, and his whole body has changed shape. (refering to your earlier post of how to get an "arch " in you horses neck)
i do pessoa him once a week, but i find expecting them to lunge on a 20 meter circle in a pessoa is quite hard going. espeshially when thie rnot used to using certain muscles. so build up the time gradually and be very patient.
and i agree you need a good instructor to help get you started.
