Have you just asked on another page how to getyour horses head in ? It comes with working correctly, no short cuts, and sadly some horses just dont have correct conformation, do you have a photo so we can see your horses put together xxx

Careful not to put the Haynet too low if your horse has shoes on! Get a feed bucket which hooks onto the door, that helps.

I gather from this she means getting her horse to work in an outline :/ in which case I think you need to get a good instructor who can show you PROPERLY how to ride from the leg through to light hands. :/ :/

it will only come from correct work, first she needs to be working from behind, if this is not correct the horse can not drop into the correct outline.

Can't bring your picture up katie, can you try again.
As per your other thread, you really do need to get an instructor in to help you.
It won't help with the arch you want, but if your mare is a cob type, it may be better to feed from the floor so you do not build unwanted muscle under the neck. Very dangerous to hang a hatnet low and haynets are only really necessary if your horse is on the fat side and needs her feeding slowing down.

If she is stabled u could get a haybar and tie ur haynet to the bottom of it, forcing your pony to pull upwards this will work the muscles in her neck and help get definition but like everyone else says. Working correctly will get the best results over time, Sadly some ponies are just not built that way.

The haynet is inside but tie the haynet inside for safety and to make the pony work harder for his tea, sounds awful when u say it like that :-)

Bit concerned with the ' dangle it down' haynet. Haynets should never be lowered as they are a danger. I have seen first hand a pony having to be cut down after getting her leg caught in a hay net and then having to be put to sleep because she'd broken her leg. That will stay with me forever. So please if you want to feed lower use a hay bar.

Always feed from the floor if your want a cresty neck as using haynets will only build muscle underneath ye i agree with jayde feed from a door bucket but working your horse in the correct way will do it for sure and also strapping her neck.

Guys if you read the conversation it is a haynet tied into a haybar, what this does is makes the pony lower it's head into the haybar then pull upwards to retrieve the hay hence making it use it's neck muscles (crest) more so than if u feed from the floor. I certainly wouldn't offer advice that was a danger or hazard to any animal. :-)) and I now wish I had some before/after pics from my youngster who is fed this way and the difference it has made this winter. It has cleaned the underside up and enhanced the definition along his crest in only 4months.

Best way to build up your horses crest/topline is down to working them in an outline. and making the horse over its back. No other way im affraid!
