with the way the corn harvest is going, good straw is going to be a nightmare to get, has anyone any good contacts for rubber mats in the south west all the ones I have seen advertised has been miles ago making delivery cost high.

I'm in Cornwall and bought mine from a company in Hampshire, I found them very reasonable. They were called Polymax. Best investment I have ever made. I use a minimum of straw and find that by using the hay that falls out the racks in the 'wee' corner it works fine.
Mucking out is quick and almost all of the ponies do their business in the designated spot. I expected to use more bedding when showing but haven't needed to. My ponies are palominos and they stay quite clean.

try ebay if your buying a lot the carraige works out ok cheaper than collecting them but do count them as you unload them we ended up 1 short but we bought loads between 2 yards
came on 3 pallets .
failing that phone your local council and buy and use old playground mats we have 4 stables with them in there very similar to the porus ridry ones very soft an gooey to walk on
