Hi. I have registered with grandstand so have my number from them. I was going to enter online for the festival tonight but it does not ask anywhere for the unique number that grandstand gave me on the online entry page. Do I need to mark that number down or not?

I spoke to HOYS re same problem. You need to complete and send in the official HOYS entry form as well as the show entry form. I was also told that you can enter online if you are already registered with HOYS, BUT you should still complete and return as well the official HOYS ENTRY FORM to the show !! Hope this helps.

Hoys told me that not all shows with online entry you have to send in a the additional sheet as some shows have incorporated it into there own entry sytem

As I understand it the competitors MUST fill in a HOYS registration form BEFORE they enter a HOYS qualifier. This form must go to HOYS not the show they are competing at. The show secs at qualifying shows already have to enter all HOYS competitors onto the HOYS database . There is another thread running on this on HG but not sure where, maybe one of the mods could help. I foresee lots of problems with this as not all competitors are clear on this new rule.

I have registered with Hoys. What I wanted to know is on the entry master site there is no where to put the unique number that Hoys give you once you have registered with them. When I entered area 5 I had to state the number other wise entry wouldnt be valid. I am just wondering if this is the same with ncpa? I dont want to be paying all that money and then competing to find nothing stands as I didnt write the number down on the entry. Hope I've made better sence this time round..

I think the number is for your own use not the shows. The shows have never been required to provide those registration forms so it really is nothing to do with them. If you won a HOYS qualifier you would then be required to produce your unique number. I can't speak for Area 5 and I think because of the lack of communication between HOYS and the show secretaries each show seems to be interpreting it differently. All our HOYS entries are in putted onto the HOYS database by the show secretary but the form you have filled in is a notification of intention to compete in HOYS qualifiers, so your information should be logged by HOYS so that when our secretary puts in your entry all your details should pop up on the screen to save her laboriously entering all the relevant bits. The idea is good but the as I said the communication has been poor. Our schedule has been back and forward to HOYS for proofing and not once was there any mention of including this form. We have added it to the website in an effort to make sure that ALL competitors are aware of it. I hope that's a bit clearer noddy, as far as we are concerned that number is for you to declare if you qualify.
