Going to bring out my 22 year old ID X TB mare under saddle this season for the vetran classes. Hacking jacket or navy jacket with nice browband, what do we think? Thats her in my signiture profile (black with 4 white socks) took her out 2 years ago in the LW Hunter classes with obviously a tweed jacket

You turn out for veteran classes the same way as you would turn your horse for normal classes ie if you normally turn out as a hunter then you would turn out the same, only difference is you are not allowed to wear spurs, or demonstrate a gallop

There's a rule in veterans about jewellery/earrings etc as well I think, don't get caught out as a friend of mine won her qualifier but was disqualified as she had earrings!

Yes do check the veteran rules - the no galloping, a lot of people miss & would win but can't because they broke the rule. I like her as a LW hunter so go in with what you wear as a LW Hunter. If you are planning to have a go at the VHS Olympia qualifiers here's where the rules/info is- www.veteran-horse-showing.co.uk/

The reason a dog has so many friends is that he wags his tail instead of his Tongue.

Correct attire for ladies in veterans is Burgundy anorak Brown or navy crimpolene 'trews' which stop one inch above the ankle bone Faux fur lined ankle boots You can add a touch of individuality / fun with a brightly coloured 'home knit' bobble hat but a more formal beret style is correct for evening performances . For gentlemen Beige cardigan with contrasting elbow patches Brown high waisted trousers with belt or braces A tartan slipper looks jaunty although the traditional leatherette slipon is also very popular A flat cap or trilby . Baseball caps are inappropriate .

flee , you forgot the obligatory hand bag with long strap , over the shoulder , with everything except the kitchen sink in it , the anorak should be tied tight around the waist , even if there isnt one ,------gentlemen should also have the off white /grey handkerchief , which makes frequent visits to the nose , and is then used for cleaning off ones glassess,!!!!!
