Really stupid question but where does everyone buy there brown elastic for sewing onto jod bottoms please  ? I have tried sooooo many shops but can only find black or white |

Our local 'all sorts' shop- they do all sorts of material and have several widths of elastic in pleanty of colours. I would look online also  |

I always bought jodphur clips that were elastic - cut off the outside clip and sewed it on and used the inside clip - does that help at all??

A Haberdashers - or the haberdashery dept. of a large department store. You have a good one in Norwich!

Our local haberdashers has it. Sadly, whilst John Lewis used to offer great haberdashery departments, of late they have been much depleted and not nearly as useful as they used to be. For example, you can only buy ribbon and elastic by the roll now. I think we should support these smaller shops. Use them or lose them!

Hobbycraft do elastic, ribbon and material by the metre if you have on handy

These lovely stores will only stock what they can sell - and if there is no market 'coz MM's collared it then who knows, BROWN ELASTIC might never be made or sold again.... Just did a brown elastic search on eBay and they have brown button elastic sold by the metre - I think this is the stuff you buy to fasten to the little buttons on the bottom of your jods and also seem to remember you could buy this from Designer Browbands.

The thing is, if there's not a lot of call for it generally, and haberdashers are just selling to the general public, they won't want to buy a huge roll, which they might end up stuck with.
I'll have a look next time I go, and see if they've got it and how much it would be. How wide would it need to be? Half an inch or wider than that?

Will black elastic not do? Buy mine on the local market haberdashery stall about 40p per metre.

I bought mine trade and am happy to take orders should anyone want any - I searched high and low in shops etc before locating the right stuff to complete my daughters turnout.
