My boy is very lazy when it comes to work schooling ect x and when ridden really has an awfull canter .. He holds himself well in walk and now in the trot but when it comes to canter he has no balance just seems to race on a twenty metre circle he will trot atleast twice on the corner x have gone back to ground work as he is exactly the same without a rider ! On the lunge x is there anything in paticular I could do to prove this or isit just practice practice on the lunge until he gains some balance ? X should when he is more balanced use anything ? (I am not meaning pin his head in side reins as do not agree with that ). Just any ideas tips please x as really want him to excell in the ring ! Xx. And us to do the best to our ability x

You don't say how old he is or how long you have had him, so it's hard to be specific. Personally, when I have a horse like this (usually a young horse) I do most of their canter work out hacking; most horses are naturally more forward out riding and canter work done then helps build their fitness and strength, which then helps when you ask them for canter flatwork in the school.
If your horse is young or unfit, it could be he finds it physically hard to canter 20m circles so try starting with larger movements, or deliberately doing plenty of up and down transition work to keep him listening to you

Have you tried some canter poles? This would make him have to think about where his feet are and not be able to just plough forward...

id firstly make sure back is checked, and get out hacking to built up fitness and canter some straights before asking for bend

I would try lunging in a passoa. It will balance him and get him working from behind and forward into the bridle. They have instructions about the different positions to use on them, you can get a kincade one from robbies for £35 without a roller and they are fabulous. Once he is balanced on the ground introduce a rider
