Have never moaned on here before, so thought i'd join the moaners club lol! I bought a lovely wax jacket, but it stinks my kitchen out!! It looks filthy after only a month and can't get the d**n thing clean. Feel like i've wasted my money as i don't like wearing it anymore, thinking people in the queue behind me will think i'm a smelly chip pan! Can't remember any of my others being this bad, maybe they use a cheaper wax these days .Grrrr

Ha ha BRT! Sadly they all smell and always have! Unfortunately unless you are in the 'moved into country, bought statutory dog, green wellies and wax jacket' brigade it will never be clean ;D ;D I buy one a year for about £15-20 from the trade stands at shows, jigger them over winter and chuck em out in spring.
A lady on a stand at HOYS.........boot cleaners, said that their leather cleaner/waterproofer stuff I bought is good for wax jackets to clean/re-proof them a bit, it smells lemony ;D
My moan about coats, bought a lovely one couple of years ago from Joules, one of those three in one types, soooooooo not waterproof as I found whilst getting drenched in a field.

Lol! i bought one of those Joules ones a couple of years ago and ended up looking rather bedraggled at a show! rain just flooded through the seems!
No i'm not a posh country sporting person, mine are filthy from day one as don't have an endless supply of grooms and butlers lol! Did cost £85 though, will deffo try tradestands for next year! Think it will have to be relagated to the tackroom, far too stinky for the house!!

I was allergic to my wax jacket brt! Spend a nice amount at a show last year, dead chuffed with it. Wore it twice and came up in massive hives round the collar. Turns out the wax has similar ingredients to medical adhesives like sticking plasters. Which I am allergic to. Waste of money - ended up giving it to my mum for dog walking...... They should put this stuff on the label!!!!!!

I have owned 2 Barbour jackets, incredably hard wearing and waterproof but if you where them for what they are supposed to be for and not a fashion accessory don't go any where warm as they honk. My last one I out grew of and gave to a pregnant friend with my apologies but I explained it would keep her dry on the gallops. I now have 3/4 length waterproof puffa coat which looks disgusting but you can put it in the washing machine.

Lol, well you've put me right off buying one!
I was always disappointed with Joules coats and waterproof pants - never ever waterproof, even though it says they are!
Goretex all the way for me now, at least it keeps you dry!!!
