I dont see any problem with ring side judgeing or comptitors having an opinion its all part and parcel of showing sometime you agree with the results sometimes you dont and as youy say judges decision is final so no harm done.I am sure just about eveyone will have said something about results agree or disagree , shouldnt be rude though judges do a hard job .

I think everyone who shows ought to be MADE to judge a couple of shows, after the people who come below first have posted on facebook and on forums what a s**t job they think theyve done when they have simply chosen the animals they prefer, for whatever reason, they would have a better idea.

As my dad always says you cant please everyone all of the time. I know its frustrating spending all your time money and effort to compete and then even though yours may be the best on the day you just need to take it on the chin and showing first and for most in my mind is for fun

Had one young lady out of about 70 on sunday disgruntled, as just didnt seemed to have bothered with the basics, went on to tell the steward i was rude etc etc, Steward infomred her she would be more than welcome to put a complaint in writing to the show. Informed the show sec who said she had only received praise and not the millions of complaints clamined by 1 person. Did so happen steward was my OH If you dont make the effort what can i say, when all other competitors were graicious and had tried very hard !!!

I think in some cases yes people should keep there comments to there self but in other cases where your horse goes foot perfect and has very good proven conformation and the horses above you wrong leg it and go with there head all over the place tends to make people very annoyed and right so ! all in all its the judges personal opinion and we are not all right all the time.

Because I'm stupid!! - and wanted to add a note, but deleted by mistake when i tried to add a note to it
Apologies - my original post merely queried why competitors in the ring can't just bite their tongue. I was staggered to over hear 4th place loudly inform 3rd place she should have won as "her horse was the best in the top three and went the best for the judge" (I was neither just close enough to overhear). But perhaps not as much as the judge, who looked like she couldn't quite believe what she'd heard. Having watched the class, none of the horses in top three did anything obviously wrong (wrong leg, bad manners, etc)
I went on to query that surely, despite judges opinion being final and all that, it is after all the judge who rides the horses and sees the stand up and trot up close and from the best point. In this instance, where there was a ride judge how something looks to the rest of the class, may feel completely different to the judge.
All fair in love and showing!! - but for me, this open challenge of the judges decision from the lineout rather than genuine discussion and fair comment, seems incredibly rude and ungrateful to the person who has put themselves up there to judge.
Again, sorry for my numptiness!
