Our green Dartmoor has done a fair bit of driving but the little monkey broke my leg 22 month ago while we were on the ground so it has been a while since he has been between the shafts I have recently been able to long rein him extensively in his harness out and about and he has been a star but he is quite fresh should I now just stick him back in the carriage and get on with it or should I send him away again I need a new knee due to his antics and will be laid off again for a year but have a novice OH and friend who will keep him working once we get him going again

To be safe I would send him off again.

That's great news 'sometime' , I'v got two, who need to get back between the shafts, one hasn't been driven for about a year, and the other nearly two years I hope they get back to it as successfully as yours, Enjoy!!!!!

back in tonight and did a bit of trotting in the field but I personally think he will be even better out and about on the bridle way he was getting a bit quick on the grass as it was bumpy and making everything a bit rattly
