My cob stallion needs a new liverpool bit as his mouth has grown, a 5 1/2" is very close fitting, but I dont know that they do a 5 3/4", my question is, is it better for this bit to be a little too wide rather than a little snug? Also, he doesn't like the curb chain on the liverpool, can anyone suggest another driving bit that may be suitable? considering that he is quite strong and also tries to get his tongue over the bit! (he does this with all bits I'v tried for riding) Many thanks in advance.

The fitting should be snug and I would try a low ported liverpool for his tongue, and swap a leather strap for the curb chain

Neue Schule did a driving bit with a port, two sorts one had fixed cheek the other a rotating cheek!! Put a wanted on here or ask the bit bank?? Elastic curbs are also good 😊
