here goes ...do you think i have the grounds for a complaint ?
Arrived at a and e with light bleeding and severe lower stomach cramps
on tuesday i Arrived at a and e at 2 45 Waited 3 hours before being seen
Blood pressure high ……doctor saw me eventually and without talking or examining me told me I had a water infection and prescribed amoxicillin and co codemol Was not offered a scan or a transfer to a maternity unit and was assured as far as the hospital was concerned I was still very much pregnant was told to enjoy the rest of my pregnancy and sent away
Less then 24 hours later after making another rushed trip to a and e I was transferred to via ambulance to another a and e with a materinty unit as I was having a miscarriage and I was informed I should have been offered a scan when I arrived at the hospital the day before and they were horrified at the level of care i recieved # i have since found out the first hospital is the most complained about in the area .

Yes, I would think you have.
Attention and care, not good enough in my opinion.

Aw that's awful, I'm so sorry.
You need to complain, that isn't an acceptable level of care for a pregnant lady. When I was pregnant with my son last year I was having horrific pains in the top right side below my rib, I was in hospital for hours because they said I had to go on a monitor to check my baby.
I'd of thought that bleeding and stomach cramps are an obvious symptom and cannot believe they sent you away.

Firstly, I'm really sorry to hear of your miscarriage, I hope your ok! Secondly, the hospital is bound by national policy to see patients within 15 mins for triage, then it's up to 4 hours to be examined by a doctor, then is up to 12 hours to be admitted or discharged. At triage you should have been scored as how much of an emergency you are. Anyone who has suspected miscarriage should be scanned and seen by at the minimum a midwife but should be an obstetrician.
I would complain, your treatment was incorrect. There will be an explanation of how to do this on the website of the offending hospital. They will also set out the time frame of how they will respond and deal with your complaint.
Good luck x

So so sorry about the miscarriage, what an awful time for you. My mum is at the moment complaining about our local doctor and hospital due to care she received and misdiagnosis 4 years ago (long story but to cut it short they told her she had bruised her coctyx after a riding accident, turns out she broke her back in 2 places) Definately complain, the more people don't complain the more it will happen..............its not good enough!

My mum complained to the NHS also.. do it fast or they drag it on longer.. to cut it short my dad was diagnosed with cancer and it went on for a year, then my mum found a treatment called cyberknife which they are now doing but then it wasnt heard of (2007) and then they were asked by the cyber knife people in germany for his records and they messed around and didnt send them when asked 8 times in totoal, then the cancer took hold and he was diagonosed terminal. I might still have my dad if they werent lacking in care.... we now use BUPA and i refuse to go back there

complain. That is awful treatment.
I had a nasty accident coming off a pointer doing gallop work in 2009. After initial x rays the very young Dr diagnosed a wedge fracture of my spine and lots of other damage but was dismissed by his consultant. 6 months later, MRI scans etc i was finally diagnosed with..... a wedge fracture of the spine! Lost my job because they faffed around for so long. (worked with hunters at the time. )

PALS are rubbish to cut a long story short i had an operation in 2009 the surgeon messed up and a week after the initial operation i was back in hospital having major surgery and i ended up spending 4 days on LIFE SUPPORT !!! PALS didnt help so it has been in the hands of my solicitor for the past 2 years !! The hospital in question Have admitted some liability and in February offered me £10k cheeky sods they nearly killed me with sub standard inadequate care ! Definitely make a complaint ! So sorry about your miscarriage my op was prior to having fertility treatment xxx

OMG yes i would complain!! So sorry for your loss x. I know hospitals are short staffed and both doctors and nurses are over worked but things are going too far and unless complaints are made the government wont see how overstretched hospitals really are!!! A lady down the road from me was admitted with a painful leg, she was told HER KNICKERS WERE TOO TIGHT!!!!! and sent home.Following morning she was having her leg amputated after being rushed in in the middle of the night! UNBELIEVABLE!! And last night there was a car crash involving an elderly couple nearby, there were no ambulances available!! lady was taken to a&e by police car and the man was airlifted, the hospital was less than 1/2 a mile away. The helicopter had to land in the local coop car park, it blew the signs off and made hell of a mess. The man was then transfered to `an ambulance outside` a&e and spent 13 hrs in it as no beds were available!! And the gov are trying their hardest to shut this a&e. COMPLAIN!!!!
