Going to save up to buy daughter show jacket for next season. (fingers crossed she will have a fab FR/LR pony by then) What in everyones view is best value and best fitted navy wool show jacket. So far Mears is top of my list. Would love Pretty ponies or Mrs Candy but even with LOTS of saving they are a bit out of my price range. also do makes vary in size, ie come up smaller/bigger?? Thank you!!!

I bought my son a Showing Selection one, but second hand. It is like new, no marks/blemishes. I got it through HG and it cost me £80. I would look for a good quality second hand, any of the brands you have mentioned. Lots of people on here are selling kids jackets, most tack shops do second hand trade in, and some of the stands at shows do second hand also. I don't think its worth spending all that money on brand new for something that will fit for one season only.....

I agree with nia2311, you can get some fantastic secondhand jackets either from tackshops or on ebay. I love Le beau Cheval but Pretty Ponies and MrsCandy are lovely too. And next season when they are outgrown you'll get your money back if you sell them on...you can't lose

You are probably right but just a bit wary about buying certain things second hand at present. Bought a few bits recently off e bay that were rubbish!!! Wasted my hard earned money. At least if it is new I stand a good chance of it not being, stained, covered in hairs, poorly fitting etc etc. Well thats the theory anyway I suppose. £80 would be a lot of money for me to spend on something that does not do the job when for another £40 I could get a new one. Have seen Navy Mears new for £120

Nursey - if you go round tack shops etc they often have a second hand rail so you can try before you buy. I have to say having bought a large number of second hand equestrian items of clothing for my son, I have never had a problem with any item. I have always asked lots of questions and asked for pictures of the item and had no issue. If you buy on here, you could find someone local and try on before you buy again?
If someone you receive is not described properly you can dispute with ebay and PayPal and get a refund.

I love the Pretty Ponies range plus they are a great fit ,They are however expensive but second hand jackets seem to hold their price very well

I've never had a problem with any jacket that I've bought from ebay either and I've probably bought a dozen over the years. Always bought top names, Mears, Le Beau Cheval, Pretty Ponies etc. A decent tweed keeps it's looks and lasts for years
