What happens if the pony gets injured/ill and has to come in? Will you find time then? Sorry if that sounds blunt but I don't think chucking a pony in a field for 12 months is the answer. I am not surprised he gets moody when left, He goes from 3 children fussing and loving him to nothing........can't blame him really. Horses are a massive commitment and if you can't give it 100% then selling is your only option

Ponies like that are a godsend especially for kids making that important move from LR to FR. Could you look for a loaner or a sharer for him for a year until your girls are ready to do more?

Maybe you should ask the girls? How many hobbies do they need? Tell them that something has to go and if they choose anything above the pony there is your answer....I wouldn't bother finding sharers, I can't really see anything being different, and dragging someone else in wouldn't be fair on anyone.

The org post was about selling a section a pony or giving him 12 months off in the field the only thing about that is he gets very moody and bad tempted and starts to nap. But worried about selling as he is great a perfect fyfr for novice/nervous kids.
