As my daughter's riding is, I feel, now up to scratch for doing some showing - please feel free to say if you think differently - could you knowledgable showing people take a look at the photos on the thread link below and give me a rundown of all classes they could do please? I really feel like I should get my backside into gear and get them out and about now, more than just PC. My daughter is 8, 9 on January 29th, and pony is of course a section A. Thank you horsegossip.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=picpost&action=display&thread=130649

Your daughter looks like a lovely little jockey who has a great partnership with her pony. Are you looking to do affiliated shows? In which case there will be First Ridden M&M classes and if she's happy with canter go round she can also do Junior Ridden M&M or even open classes. Cerys (who's 3 months older than your daughter) much prefers these - she thinks FR is boring ;D
Some shows also offer FR workers, or training stakes workers which don't start too high - certainly worth having a go at these if your daughter enjoys the jumping as much as it appears she does from the lovely photo!
At local shows there's also Equitation, Riding Club Pony and possibly a host of other fun classes. Cerys's favourite class is and always has been Handy Pony.
Most importantly, they look as though they're having so much fun together, so please try to keep pressure off and stress levels low so they can both continue to enjoy their wonderful partnership.

Thanks nici, she will insist in going in junior and open classes, I'm sure, and now she has learned to ride from her seat she looks a lot tidier in canter so I will let her! They have jumped 70cms together but that is pretty much Thumpy's limit - it is of course completely different jumping a couple of fences at 70cms to jumping a course and he finds it quite difficult keeping it up, being only 11.1hh and quite portly.! That's before it goes higher in the jump off assuming they go clear! She's finding this quite frustrating so I'm on the lookout for the next pony up, too, to run alongside Thumpy until he's outgrown.
Does anyone know what area Mold / Chester falls into for BSPS, etc?
It's a long time since I've done showing and only belonged to the NCPA and did the odd County show then!

rhosyn: as long as your pony is registered with WPCS the list of classes is endless! Concentrating on M&M classes there are First Ridden, Junior Ridden, Open ridden (often with novice classes as well as open) on the flat & 122cm M&M WHP classes (novice & open, sometimes run as mixed height classes) plus training stakes classes, FR M&M WHP, junior M&M WHP NCPA shows have a very good variety of these type of classes (and are virtually always also affiliated to BSPS, PUK, NPS etc) and there are plenty of shows (& training clinics for members) in theMold/Chester area - see www.thencpa.co.uk for lots more details, schedules, show links etc. BSPS Area 2a covers the are you mention, but as with NCPA, you join the whole organisation, not just the area. Hope this helps.

I can see them doing VERY well in FR M&M, Ridden A's & 122cm M&M WHP at county! They both look more than ready for the show ring imo
