Hi, four the past week I have been schooling my four year old horse who has been schooling so beautifully. Yesterday I was doing some schooling and he found it very hard to canter on the left rein. Today he was the same, he was trying to canter but felt very odd- like he couldn't canter. He canters fine on the right rein.

Try getting his back checked.
This happened to my youngster; was fine right canter but not left. She struggled so Bad kept throwing bucks in. Physio paid a visit and hey presto fingers crossed been ok for last 12 months.
Also try to keep work varied ie hacking etc keeps them interested.
Good luck

Have your vet who may refer to a physio. You need a diagnosis and a physio cannot give you that.

I agree with S&O, as this may be a stifle issue in which case a rest or no circles for a good while, this is relatively common at this age. good luck

I had the same issue with my pony and it was his teeth. Strange I know, but once his teeth had been done he was back to being a happy chappy
