Would you be annoyed if you had been to a show and done pretty well and then a few days later someone told you that they had been speaking to the judge who told them that they had seen anything nice all day and wouldn't have wanted to take any of them home?? The said person doesn't really know this judge it aparantly just got said in conversation?? Don't think it's a very professional attitude and it wasn't at a riding club show either!!

seems harsh to me but you do have to consider mayby the classes they were judgeing had horses in that they wouldnt want in their feild , if you get what i mean, i think coloured cobs can be absoloutly stunning but being a lover of warmbloods and blood type horses i wouldnt want a cob for me , i wouldnt take it personally

Unless you heard those exact words coming from the judges mouth, ignore it, take it with a pinch of salt, and enjoy your showing xx

On the flip side if anyone had asked you had youseen anythingnice and youreplied, nothingi wanted to take home, that isnt disprespectful thats an opnion and personal choice.
As a judge doesnt mean you have to Like everything, and occasionallyit is hard at local level to pardon the phrase pick the best of a not so perfect bunch ?
But at the end of the day we have to be encouraging and offer advise when asked, to help people do better.
Also beauty is in the eye of the beholder, what you think is nice and what an owner sees every day, are 2 different things.
Im afraid in showing you have to be prepared that youare asking one persons opnion, and not all will like your animal, some will think its ok and others may love it, if we were all programmed the same would make for very boring showing

Think you have to not take it personally and just enjoy the whole experience! Agree that its not very professional to make those comments within earshot of other people but as stated above, unless you heard it for yourself, would take no notice! : )

If you heard this second hand, and it was just in conversation why did this individual feel the need to tell you if they knew you was there?? Sounds like green eyed monster to me
