My pony has got into the habit of jogging during the pull in how do I stop it?

Jesse, you have to sit deep and lean back if necessary, really try to ride him from the seat. Do not pull too much on the reins, lighten them and anchor your weight this enables you to stop the energy coming forward from the backend, which is your engine. As soon as he softens, you must. But keep sitting deep and leaning back. jogging is a habit and must be curtailed. Do you not have a riding instructer?

Have you tried some trot to halt and halt to trot transitions at home to get the pony listening more? This may help you get the pony listening to you a little more even if you are in the ring

Try having a 'practise show'. Bring an instructor & a few friends with their horses & keep practising. He's most likely worked up, & unsure, I had one that did this, you just have to be reassuring & try to ride forward & through it. Mine got better the more she did.
