I saw at a show this year a sort of tail bandage/guard that you plait into the horse's tail and it not only helps to keep the tail clean and bush the tail out a bit but protects it as well.
Does anyone know what I mean, what their proper name is and where I can obtain one from?
Thanks

tes you can get them through a compqny called tail-gator - if you put it into google it comes up with their website.
They occasionally sell them on ebay too, they are not cheap but are excellent - particularly if you have a grey!!!!!

I can't remember where you get them, but I have a couple I would gladly sell! I much prefer the tail bags you can get from tailgator.
I found with the plaited type that my ponies' tails were really matted when I took the wraps off to brush them. They're not made of waterproof material so if it's raining (which is standard around here!) they don't work so well.
