Having been 2nd AGAIN today - does anyone know of any shows that are holding the 4/5/6 year old qualifiers in the South? They seem to be like gold dust! Such a tough class as mixed breeds and they have been very strong in the 2 we have done and been beaten by a large breed both times. Think it is such a shame they don't give 2 tickets in this class say one large and one small breed. It seems such a long way to go to NPS Champs just to do a Picton final with a 4 year old. Such a shame there is not a Pure Novice in the summer as well. 4 year olds can't do the intermediates so hard to find classes to get them some ring experience.

I agree about there not being Pure Novice in the Summer Champs - we have a 5 year old who has been taken very slowly, he will have to contend the 6 year old class next year against ponies who have been competing since they were 4 & no doubt will have very polished shows.

Thanks npsarea 25 sec I did see that your show has them but it is such a long way for us to come for one class. This is the problems with babies and I guess again the need for more local shows to affiliate and put on novice classes. Catch 22 I know as they will not get the entries if they clash with HOYS shows or don't have HOYS/RIHS classes as well. We realised we could not do the intermediate class as that is 5 years old and over - it is ridiculous really as you end up only being able to do open classes! So a 4 year old can go to HOYS but not do an intermediate class!
