Sorry to moan and whinge, but I put a very brief advert about my pony on facebook, only brief as I am fortunate enough to have 3, and the yard I keep them at is very b*tchy! So, I made it clear, height/sex/part loan/does everything/opportunities to compete/stay at present yard/area ect. These however apply to 2 ponies Then I put at the end, adults only please, no timewasters and genuine enquiries will get full info via inbox, I don't mind answering all questions, but don't want everyone knowing my ponies info! So within two minutes I have 5 comments of the same girl from my yard, who is it? is it ....? ect. I ignored these comments. Moments later, I receive and inbox from a very young looking girl, with only said mutual friend being the girl from my yard. The questions she asked were 'is it fast and whats his name?'. I replied that although he was forward he is easy to stop, snaffle mouthed and safe. I received back 'whats a snaffle and his name then?'. Please give me stregnth, this was exactly the 'competant and exerienced adult only' I advertised for! Sorry for a long moan, why are these people so nosy, must they really NEED desperately to know which of my ponies I am loaning out!

Aww its a nightmare though i advertised one via facebook and being 12hh and dappled grey she attracted so many young kids asking about her and asking if they could come and see her, so i replied and shes never been yet lol! Checked her facebook she was 11! I bet if their parents new they were timewasting they would be mortified!

It's so annoying isn't it! I replied as nicely as I could saying 'Thank you for enquiring, but your not quite what I'm looking for, as I only want an experienced adult to have him.' Replied back with 'but whats his name?'. Grr, get the hint!
Worst thing is mine are 14.2hh, so not really a kids ride lol! Also just found out she's asking for someone who tried him out before, and has absolutely stalked him and me ever since, down to adding random people on facebook I know and telling them she'd had him on full loan for ages!
May need a large glass of something strong to get through it all haha!

LOL! Where do these people come from and why do they think we're stupid enough to get involved with them! 550 is cheap for a nice safe pony, 250 is insulting to be fair! People seem to think cash changes the quality of the home their going too. Trying to breed from a gelding :') That's cheered me up after explaining what a snaffle is. I sent another one saying your obviously not interested or experienced enough for my pony, so why would you need to know his name? Ignored. Haha, finally scared them off!

I've had the opposite with FB - looking for a pony on loan and some bonkers things have been offered to my daughter! It all proves that people read what they want to see!

I've had the opposite with FB - looking for a pony on loan and some bonkers things have been offered to my daughter! It all proves that people read what they want to see! I had this when looking for a part loan for my son - we viewed some quite unsuitable animals, despite being clear about my son' age, experience and requirements! We have now found a lovely pony though, so it is worth carrying on and looking.

I have finally found an amazing loaner, she's had him 2 weeks now and I'm so glad we held out for the right person, she loves him to pieces!
I think to be fair, it works both ways, people dress ponies up to be what their not, and there's complete timewasters on both ends!

Im in the same situation, i had one woman who i think just came for a day out and a ride!! said she would call me and come back and didn't. Another was meant to come last night and never showed up once she found out what her name was...creeps me out when people ask that for some reason...so I have 2 more potential loaners coming tomorrow and Friday....URGH!!!!!

Good luck carrie! There's time wasters on both sides, but joy riders just annoy me so much!! And asking stupid questions, what's there name? A true horsey person wouldn't care what the name is.
