I guess that this is a good time to admit to my (attempted)criminal past and tell you what you might think is an interesting story. I found out that a man living near here was breeding kittens and feeding them live to his birds of prey to teach them to kill. As usual the RSPCA did not want to know. I arranged for the local media to be there as I broke into his outbuildings and stole the mother cat and three kittens. I was hoping he would call the Police and I would get arrested. However, of course he was one step ahead and did absolutely nothing, I ended up with a cat and kittens - one of which is with us now 33 years later. I have never been convicted of housebreaking much to my disppointment - and my family are glad I have calmed down a bit. As far as I know, however, he did stop this practise if only becasue he did not want me in his outbuildings every time his back was turned! Animals deserve respect from us and I will still pitch in if I think someone is being cruel.
