We have a 7 month old springer spaniel puppy which I think by now should be able to go through the night without peeing all over. I have had several dogs from puppies and have never had one that wees so much. He is a very good boy when we are up but when he is shut up with the other 2 dogs at night there is nothing but mess in the morning. He also destroys the beds. He does have toys at night but I am getting to the end of my tether with him. Help please!! Should add that he does have 2 puppy pads but covers them and more them rips them up.

While he is puppy training, he needs to train his bladder to hold through the night, I found lift mines water bowl at bout 7pm and ensuring that she when for a wee before putting her to bed for the night. Also found having baby gate between my room and where she slept on the landing so she could see me stopped her scratching at the door and crying all night.

Some.dogs do just take that bit longer, how do you react with him in the morning? Crate is a good idea, and really helps with training. Vet bed is harder to rip up and easy to wash as an idea for bedding. I would also collect a urine sample and get it tested to be on the safe side. Good tips by BB123 as well reducing food and water at night. Good luck.

Puppy pads are the issue here they train the pup to wee indoors in the first place and it is harder then to teach them to go outside We crate train all ours too my lab was house trained after the first day at home and hasnt had any accidents since she was 8 weeks old. I do think that was because I am here with her all the time and for the first few weeks I got up in the night to take her out
