I'm similar to bethanyy, with work and other stuff I ride about 3 times a week. I know when one of mine was with a producer she was getting worked 5 days a week which got her looking fab but there is no way I could keep that up :-(

Depends on the weather / field condition.
The aim is to ride on Tuesday-Thursday evenings, plus Saturday and Sunday (kids have commitments on Monday and Friday evenings).
We generally achieve 3-4 times most weeks, but not all ponies get ridden all days. On lovely summer weekend days the kids can be riding most of the day - but they've been in very short supply this year. The two main ponies are very fit and can handle 2-3 hours with no problem, the baby ponies generally don't do more than half an hour when it's their turn.
I think twice a day would be a pipe dream for most of us who have to work full time, particularly those of us who also have to juggle childcare and other commitments.

I've just started work and my mum's injured so mine aren't getting the work I'd like them to be getting. They're probably doing 3/4 days a week each though. I prefer them to be doing 6 each.
If I was fittening something up for Eventing at a serious level I would ride twice a day, to keep them as fit as possible.

i too have child/work commitments. my pony is worked 5 days a week consisting of lunging twice in a pessoa, one flat lesson for 45 mins, one jumping sesh for 1 hour and hack out on the weekend for 1-2 hours.i will admit juggling everything is hard, but the pony is looking great so im scared to cut it down.

My horse is usually ridden 6 days a week now - 3/4 by me and 2/3 by my part loaner. Its a mixture of hacking and schooling with jumping on some Sundays at either clinics or at shows. My daughter also sometimes rides my horse late afternoon if I've been for a short hack in the morning. Schooling sessions are around 30 - 45 minutes and hacks can be anything from 1 - 3 hours. When jumping at shows that includes between 30 mins to 1 hour hack to the show (plus same back) and 2 or 3 jumping classes. My horse is now 21 years old, fit as a fiddle and I find the more she is ridden the better she is and she loves the jumping.
I work in London during the week so I am lucky that we have a floodlit rubber surfaced school at the yard where I keep her which means that even in the winter we can ride in the evenings after work so Polly's work load doesn't really change throughout the year.

I don't time my rides, but ride 6 out of 7 days. If the weather is awful or I don't feel well, I don't ride at all.

After all, when people go to shows I imagine they are doing more than one class generally and therefore the horse/pony is going to be ridden overall for longer than a short hack and a schooling session of mine (1hr 45 mins total riding with turnout in a field for a few hours in between).
