Nope - it's just one of those shows I will refuse to do And can you believe it - probably about 100 people complained about a certain judge last year...and she's BACK doing the exact same classes as last year

Did you go last year to the summer? The ground was appalling! They hadn't touched it. I wouldn't bank on it being rolled for this year either....

Hahahahaha, has anybody read the message board of FOC website? At the moment they have about 5 pages of complaints - and day 1 hasn't even finished yet Personally, I think it was incredibly irresponsible or them to hold it Even worse for the people who went and risked heir horses in it! I can imagine FOC convincing people that the ground was good though

Yes I have just been reading the comments on the FOC guest book. Surely anyone who has been to the FOC would know what to expect i.e. disorganisation and greed. There was no point being a martyr to running a show which is dangerous. I heard that people were queing hlaf a mile down the road to get on to the showground. At least last week UK showing did their upmost to organise things as safely as possible to still allow the show to go on. When will people learn that the FOC want to just cash in and not spend any money on improving their facilities. The competitiors are just as bad and I am glad to see that some people arrived and then decisised not to risk it and went home Is it really worth a red rossette I have heard that SG approached both Myerscough and Osbaldeston and neither of them wanted him to run his shows at their venues.

I went and watched festival today you can tell not much has been done to try and save the ground bet you the organisers are gutted they didnt try to sort it out more it must be embarrising for them the amount of complaints given in today!it was just seriously dangerous people parked on the road trying to load ponies!we also seen a kid ridin up the road on a pony with no tack or hat on thats how dangerous it was!!

I have heard that SG approached both Myerscough and Osbaldeston and neither of them wanted him to run his shows at their venues. I dont belive that - hiring those places would of cost money and besides, they are in complete denial about the state of the Valients. I wish they'd spend some money on the place, but they only seem to want to paint it and put cloth up. It is very disappointing, the FOC use to such a good show when it was at Birchinley. .....if i won the lottery.....

Oh I remember - didn't they say they spent £80,000 on improving Valients? Must have been expensive cloth ETA: I loved it at Birchenley!

Finally people are getting the message that SG doesn't want to spend money !!.
SG calls himself 'the voice' well you know what we nicknamed him.....
the gob - with all talk and no action
I bet Melvyn Jones is spinning in his grave for the way in which the FOC has been dragged down.
Melvyn worked d**ned hard to make the festival work and all that is being undone
R.I.P Festival Of Champions !!!

I used to go when if was at Birchinley Manor - it was fab loads of car parking and a real safe place for pony and rider!! We went last year to the winter champs and it was just awful ! But what can they do if no venue will take them Guess that will be it

our local riding club decided not to compete at foc this year as there were that many complaints about last winter health * safety etc the club secretary received a letter from sg threatening legal action due to slander!!!!!

My riding club wont do it either, apparantly someone entered a class at the summer show and said they qualified at our show and they hadnt even been and the FOC management sent us a nasty letter saying we were breaching their rules, what can we do about people entering and saying they qualified at our show? Nothing, people can say what they want cant they? Been looking at the FOC guest book, OMG what a shower of sh1te it is proving to be. Every year 100's of people say "oh I wont go there again" but they always do.... bit like PUK people are glutten for punishment. The thing that annoys me is that it used to be such a fantastic show, and if you won you really felt rewarded for a hard seasons graft, now its trying to be a money spinner, and if you win its about as exciting at mucking out.

It also makes me laugh about how on their "affiliated clubs" section, they have loads of riding clubs...and half of them aren't even affiliated! I know 2 clubs near me refuse to have anything to with them! And some clubs listed aren't even being held this year Grrr, I can't stand FOC!

I've been up there myself today for a nosy. All I can say is what an absolute shambes the place stil is. It has so much potential but if he won't spend the money then what can you do. It was hilarious that the main ring was split in half with one half ridden and one half in hand and then wait for it ........ The bonny pony classes etc were being judged in the other indoor arena - What does that tell you

I went to the festival of champions and I agree that it was a shambles there was mud everywhere and the parking was squished together and there were queues to get on to the parking! I thought it was bad yesterday but i would have guessed that it would have been worse today seen as the horses and ponies churned it up yesterday I think it was wrong for the FOC to hold this show they were clearly only thinking of the money (apparently they have taken over 17.5k in entry fees ) I do know that today they cancelled all the jumping and the workers and then refused to return the entry fees That was the first time I have been to the festival and it didnt really give off a good impression I thought the judging was really dodgey as it was at the spring festival where some minger horses took the championships!! as for the comment about people risking there horses...Im sure that people thought constantly about their horses and I know the judge asked a group to do a go round and nobody would do it because they were worried about their ponies legs etc... I know a lady in the LR pulled out and said to the judge ' I refuse to take part in this class when the ground it like this... Its not worth a £300 vet bill for the sake of a rosette!' so like i said before its all about the horses... most people were lurred into a false sense of security when we were told that woodchippings had been spread over al the rings Typical FOC

I beleived thw conditions would be awful, which is why our first ridden stayed at home, she is a valuable asset to us and we wouldn't risk her for a ribbon. Im now going to go on FOC website and look at the comments .....

Every year 100's of people say "oh I wont go there again" but they always do.... bit like PUK people are glutten for punishment. We didn't, I said never again 2 years ago and I mean it. Would take a change of management and venue to get us within 50 miles of it again

Would take a change of management and venue to get us within 50 miles of it again Echo that And unsurprisingly, they have deleted every single one of the 12 pages of complaints and left the nice ones
