Hi! Hope you are all well.
My name is Mandi, I am nearly 40, have 3 daughters (one is no longer living at home) and recently lost my 18 year old disabled son after a huge seizure. We own 4 ponies, two are out on loan to my sister who shares my yard for her daughter and as a companion to her sick mare and the other two are my younger two daughters show ponies and my hack.
We don't does as much showing as we used to and as now restricted to annual shows and a couple of local RC's also my mares are now veterans although Howen Golden Showers (star) is just 16 and behaves like a newly backed youngster not a season pro! She is my youngest daughters pony and is main used for SJ'ing and inhand showing because Hannah hates showing lol. We have owned her 14 years and she was shown regularly at local and county in her younger days until I got divorced and lost my driver. My middle daughter rides my veteran who I have only owned 10 months. Mavros Mali (amber) was bought as a plaything for me to hack and produce for myself as I am a nervous rider in my old age and needed a predictable call pony...everything Amber isn't as a hack lol. Liz lost her veteran pony (my very first pony aged 31 when she died and who I owned for 28 years, been there done everything old gal, still ridden and shown until last season) and being a good mum I let her take over showing Amber before I even had a chance!
Amber came to us by accident and was bout off a friend to cheer me up after loosing my OTHER veteran Sovereign Pretty Lady who was 38 years old and still my light hack who was also still shown until a few weeks before she was sadly pts through colic. Amber has definitely filled the hole in my heart and has got myself and Liz through one of the most traumatic times of our lives. In fact with out the ponies I think we'd all have just given up and stopped living.
My eldest daughter was a successful local SJ'er and regularly given horses to jump by friends and acquaintances but sadly she found out about boys and quit her college course and horses not long after moving in to his home and is hoping to return to riding at some point in the future when she has more money, she is doing ok for herself so I know she will get what she wants in life eventually.
So now it's just me, hubby, Han and Liz with a biggish house and the animals lol
Anything you need to ask feel free I will do my best to answer.
