Not sure there are a lot of advantages these days. Suzee on here has palominos - she may be able to help.

Not worth the cost, in my opinion.

Same here, no benefits for us so we gave up. I think if you live nearer to Wales there are more shows to go to. Any photo's of your palomino as a complete fan.

Hi there we have palominos, many registered to the BPS. I agree that there aren't many advantages these days of registering your pally as there aren't always very many affiliated shows around and registration can be quite expensive. But of course if people don't use the society and register their horses and ponies (the ones that of course pass there inspection) then we will lose even more shows and eventually the society altogether. Although i would say that the BPS could do with a bit of a shake up and some modernisation across the board x

I wouldn't bother Jo. I love your dappley boy but the Palomino Society won't. His coat is not the right colour for them - too dark, too dappled

Very nice pony, however would agree with nici the BPS wouldn't like those lovely dapples.

Ive been a member for the last 15years however i havent bothered the last 2 years. The cost isnt worth it. You dont get anything out of it. As others have said theres not many shows about anymore and theres less and less every year. If your not known in the society you wont get a look in. They even had to cancel there annual national show last year due to lack of entries and they were on the verge of doing it again this year. They also dont welcome any one new to the society. Myself and a few others have gone for probationary judging and there not interested. It comes to a point when a colour society does there news letters in black and white. Until the society has a shake up and a clear out of the old then it will never change . Rant over (:

Hello brt,we are luckier than others as here in Wales that there are still a few shows with affiliated palomino classes, and i think we are quite a friendly lot too lol.How old is your boy? he looks very smart.Yes he is dappley at the moment but they often clear on a youngster.A nice rich colour too.How about looking on www.thebritishpalominosociety.co.uk and check what shows would be within reach for you?

Thankyou Suzee, he is a yearling but his sire is a very dark dappled so not sure he will lose them. i will look on the website and maybe wait till next year to see how he goes colour wise.
