Hi, Mum's cat is 15 and is really showing his age. He doesn't eat very much and is a bit lacking in muscle tone/topline. What can I buy him that will tempt him to eat? He lives on Whiskers and Iams but I would like to see him eating more. I thought about taking him to the vet for a vit B injection but I think the stress might be too much for him!

Hi , have you had him blood tested just to check he isn't brewing a disease that's making him look old and stopping his appetite ? or get his teeth checked as that can cause probs in older cats . I've just had my 16 year old cats tested , one is fine , and the other has a v high thyroid level so is on medication now and should be fine . Might be something very simple That can be easily resolved . Good luck and hope your cat is better soon x x

fresh chicken cooked up , or at that age anything he fancies , but a visit to the vet might be advisable !!!

Loss of appetite and weight loss can also be signs of kidney disease especially in older cats, and I agree with ferret, bloods and a good check over by your vet would be a good idea

Thanks everybody. Mum has agreed that he should go to the vet. He is really bad about taking tablets so I hope he is not prescribed any!
