I have treated my cat twice for flea and tick over the last month with Frontline, but he still has some little creepies. Anything more effective?

Keep going, the flea cycle takes a while to break. Your home needs doing too. Regular washing of the cat bedding helps. Its a pain to sort, we are constantly in abattle, our cat goes through the fields and seems to pick them up all the time

Are you using Frontline combo and not just the ordinary Frontline? Also they can still pick up flees but hopefully they are just fresh ones they are picking up which will die once they have had a munch on your moggy

Thanks both, just come back from vet as Sage cat was attacked and fleas jumped across the table (oh the shame!) come away with Frontline Combo and a spray for the house.
Kayjem or anyone, can you buy Frontline Combo online etc?

buy a flea comb
get a bowl of hot water to kill the fleas in and comb your cat every night
Use a steam cleaner on your soft furnishings and carpets aiming for underneath the skirting. If your cat is allowed in your bedroom make sure you do under the bed has well. We had one house that was infested with fleas when we bought it, an old coach house and our cat suffered this was before the modern products and it took over 8 years and a complete remodeling of the house to sort out the problem
One tip on our black and white cat the fleas preferred the white hair to the black hair
THIS IS WAR!!! good luck x

If you don't mind the chemicals (and I preferred the chemicals to the flea bites as I'm very allergic to fleas) then you can buy a spray that you can use on all carpets, sofas etc... wash all your bedding on a high heat and of course any cat beds.
Unfortunately the little lovelies can lie dormant in fabrics for ages before jumping back on another host for a feast and to breed again.
My vet reckoned that lots of fleas are now immune to frontline as it's been used so long - he gave me advocate instead and so far so good seem to have it sorted.
If they catch alot of mice/birds and mix in areas with feral cats or foxes which if yours has been bitten I'm guessing they do, then they are likely to keep picking them up so it's worth keeping on top of the spot on treatments to prevent them.
Good luck - itchy little things.

Nuvan Staykill, a yellow aerosol can with a black lid I think, the vets have it and some pharmacies, costs about £15 a tin. You spray all your carpets etc. then vacate and close the room for 30 minutes, should kill anything that's set up home in your soft furnishings. You'll have to do this with every room that the cats are allowed in.
Good luck, evil little buggers aren't they?

My vet now recommends advocate as frontline does not seen to be as affective .

Fleas are a nightmare! We regularly de flea but they still seem to linger. We have a pest person coming to the house next week as like someone has said once they get in carpets etc you have had it, believe me! Boy also are flea bites annoying and uncomfortable too.
