The only NPS affiliated classes I've done this year have been the Pictons and Juniors, we didn't qualify for the Picton championship this year, but I won and qualified for the Junior championship. My question is, am I still eligable to compete in Picton qualifiers next year? Also, if I were eligable and qualified for the Picton, would I be able to compete in the Picton Final if my pony qualified for HOYS or RIHS before the championship? Or would I be immediatly disqualified from competing at the final?

Copied from the rule book
The NPS/Picton M&M Novice Ridden National Championship. a) Stallions, mares and geldings four years old and over, registered in the main body of their respective Breed Society stud book. A pony is not eligible to compete if, before 1st January in the current year, it has done any of the following: i) Won an open NPS affiliated mixed M&M Ridden class ii) Won a Ridden class at an Olympia, Horse of the Year Show or RIHS qualifying round iii) Qualified for Horse of the Year Show or RIHS Ridden classes iv) Qualified for the M&M Novice or Intermediate Ridden final at the NPS Summer Championship show (N.B. Ponies can compete as novices in this competition for two consecutive years provided they do not submit an entry to the final in the first year). v) Qualified for the M&M Ridden Championship final at Olympia in previous years vi) If a pony qualifies for Horse of the Year Show or RIHS in its second year it is immediately de- noviced and cannot compete in the Picton Final.
It doesnt say anything about junior ridden classes although junior ridden classes are classed as open classes I think?

I called the NPS office about a pony I was looking to purchase to ask if it was still eligible for Novice Ridden Classes, they informed me they were unable to help and just kept referring me back to the above rules.

As ponies aren't 'registered' with the NPS they don't keep records of individual achievements which can make things difficult if you buy a new pony but don't know it's previous show successes!

I called NPS because I previously bought a pony that my daughter then qualified as a novice whp as we we told it was still eligible, only to have my champs entry returned as it had already previously qualified, so I thought they must have some records to be able to check against.

I also thought that forester, but things must have changed. It was probably seven years ago I had the problem mentioned above, but as I say when I recently contacted them asking them to check a result for me they told me they were unable to. Not a problem now, I didn't buy pony, so I did not bother pursuing it.

Llanarth Seldom Seem won the RI this year and the Picton final so if you qualified for HOYS or RI next year it wouldnt stop you from competing in the picton final. Not sure about the Junior though I would ring the NPS to check about that one.

We are wondering the same thing Blossom qualified for the picton final but due to the wagon mot expiring and not being able to book it in before nps champs and also not being able to afford nps and equifest, we didn't enter the final. Would like to try again next year but need to double check we are eligible, also planning to do some hoys and RI and RI junior qualifiers and if we get our ticket we would happily waive the picton ticket

NPS have a record if you have entered a section Final but not if you have just taken a qualifying card - you can compete in the Picton for 2 consecutive years as long as you don't enter the Final in the first year.

We never entered the Junior final because I didn't get my Picton this year. Will ring and ask to confirm!
