As the title says really, any tips on improving extension in the ring?

hold and push with your seat and squeeze lunging along the long side also encourages it for when you ride them and in the show ring!

Transitions from walk to trot making sure ur horse is responsive then trot to extended trot

its important to maintain balance and rhythm or else it just looks like the horse is running and can get them on the forehand

What gillwales said. I find doing a little bit of collection just before asking for extension, or a sneaky bit of shoulder in as I come round the corner helpful as it can gather the horse up and get him/her stepping under a bt more before you ask for the extension.

You can't get a good extended trot unless you horse is working correctly with his hindlegs under him carrying more than their share of the weight. If you try when he is still on the forehand all he can do is run with quarters trailing. All the above should help him into a good starting off outline.
