Sorry just need somewhere to vent, can't use Facebook as I've got her as a friend to keep an eye on her! Why is it people who really shouldn't have horses, can't look after them, never listen, always end up with salt of the earth horses who would do anything to please and are totally doting??? A woman on our yard has bought an ex racehorse, has let it drop to near RSPCA condition cos its summer and it should be living on grass, leaves it lame for weeks at a time without treatment and is only interested in riding riding riding, and her beautiful horse just keeps on cuddling her and loving her and behaving impeccably!! My horse would have killed me by now if I treated him this way!!! I just wish he'd throw her off a couple of times and then she'd lose interest and sell him

There's a few of them about! There's a person up the road from me, who has 6 ponies and keeps breeding them don't know why because they doesn't sell or do anything with them, there feet are over grown they look like they could do with a good worming and a lot of TLC There's been a few people ask me about them as there has been a bit of chat in the neighboring villages raising concerns for the ponies! Why have so many if you cant afford or be bothered to care for them, so sad Your right hayesface its the crappy owners that need a kick up the backside!

This seems to happen a lot! There are a few people like this on my yard I just feel so sorry for the poor ponies. People like this do not deserve to even be around horses let alone own them!!!

The yard Im ons has got a couple like this. All they want to do is jump!! One recently bought a 10 yr old ex eventer that had had an injury an turned out to see if it came sound. It didnt so was sold as 2/10's lame and for £250. What were they doung with it the day after it arrived, jumping it on the lunge. She is such a sweet mare and its really sad!! One of them had a horse pts with heart failure. It was like a hat rack and had dropped so much weight very quickly!! They hacked it out the day before he was pts as they only realised when they got back off the hack that there was something wrong as he nearly colapsed!! Another has a pony diagnosed with lami comes down with a huge bag of carrots and apples leaves her in for 2-3 days then shes back out!! I hate it there but it is the best place for my horse. The worlds full of them!!!!

Hope noone is daft enough to lend her one!

Someone on here was given numerous lovely ponies on loan or LWVTB and recently had them all taken off her leaving her with just the ones she actually owned, she had moved them from yard to yard partly to hide from the LWVTB owners who she wasn't paying, partly to hide from loan owners what a state she was keeping their ponies in and also as she constantly behind in livery bills so had to do moonlight flits! I wouldn't mind but I and several other people had informed some of the owners that their ponies were stood knee deep in crap and not one of them came to check! Eventually one owner tracked her down and took their pony back and spread the word via FB and soon they were all removed. Hence she has deleted old account and is under a new name on here so beware if you are thinking of putting your pony out on loan and do your homework, get references off previous loaners and YOs unless you want your ponies left without food and water for up to 27 hours at a time

'icould be one of many' - you know its a bad sign when everyone knows the person spoken about , i would love to know what type people go to shows and leave their horses with no water etc all day but changing your name on fb really doesnt make people 'forget' what they did, do they think people dont know their 'new' name ?? , some people really do confuse me , this person also tries to sell their horses for a crazy price , let them go to a good home for less , the horses probably dont know what a good home is after seeing what they were previously stood on ! silly silly people !! ... rant over !

Scary post we have a 4 year old 13hh saint of a pony for sale he,s such a nice boy that he could be easily abused hes one of those ponies who just keeps giving took him out to dressage and he was 2nd 71% and has an amazing jump worried that new owner will take him out or jump and jump him until he's over faced when we take him out we do 2 classes aim for double clears at 60 /70 cm to get him ring craft round venues and courses but he's jumping 1m10 at home and everyone says get a small kid and get him round big courses to sell him ! Some folks can only see short term but at 4 he should have a good career ahead if he's treated well and given chance but how do we weed out dodgy buyers?

Mrsm, its difficult when you sell as you have no control over what happens to them, all we can do is do as much checking up as possible prior to the sale, get references etc but even then its not guaranteed, the girl I've referred to above somehow seems to keep conning people into loaning her ponies, I don't know how she does it but I hope her reputation precedes her now. I would love to tell people to pm me if they are thinking of loaning or selling in this area but if I name myself or her, she will know its me, as it is she is probably thinking this has nothing to do with her as she thinks she has done nothing wrong! As it stands at the moment, I could literally be one of many as her name is mud in the local horse community. I don't even want to say which area we are in as I am currently negotiating the loan of a beautiful hoys standard horse and if the owners see the area tyey gould even think I'm the person in question as they do not know me from Adam as yet andive not given references yet. Plus I value my front teeth!

i also cannot understand how the said person manages to get so many ponies on lwvtb and never pay for any for sooo long and its people like this who really do make loaning a horse to people , so much more difficult . it is exceedingly sad to see owner of poor ponies go and collect them , not looking anything like they did on the last viewing of them , especially when the said person had a pony for so long, the owners would have never suspected anything ... such a shame !

Its a pity more people dont report these thing, a lot of people seem to be more afraid of the horse owners reacting badly to being reported than the pony being mistreated. If there was a better no tolerance approach by other liveries and yard owners and more people were prosecuted for neglect and suffering then perhaps it might happen less. Saying that, some years back, I have reported three people, the RSPCA were disappointing and left two horses starved, amaciated and knee deep in crap covered in lice inthe dead of winter just suffering because we had been giving them water! In the end we just kept feeding them ourselves which is not what its supposed to be about.
