Hi everyone. Has anyone took on a dartmoor hill from this years drift sales? I HAVE! she is stunning and doesnt trot she floats has mainly arab breeding and is a big tall girl! I have had kelly marks book handling the un touched horse and did manage to get a rope loop on her as suggested in fact it was text book, then went on to run fake arm on withers back and bum ( although i dont like to encourage bum scratching) but it was very hard to safely remove it! after 2 weeks stabling and getting used to a routine i have now constructed a 4.5 ft ( they can jump high if frightened) electric fence in a round shape so no scary corners, and today she is enjoying being out. we have got used to each other taking things slowly she still has no headcollar on tho. Any help tho with anyone experianced in this field would be great. i hope to get hold of a round pen in early jan. she will eat with me next to her so she trusts me as well as can be expected, i dont rush about and dont make a big deal of the daily jobs just go get it done at a steady pace almost to the point of ignoring her really not looking her in the eye etc!

Got a dartmoor hill pony off of the drift september 2011 fantastic little 3 yr old filly, so well behaved came right round ever so quickly just started the very slow backing process and she is taking to it like a star quite enjoying it! She is a blue roan and white so quite a rare colour as adverse to the usual blue and white, means she won't ever grey out YAY!

(if she was 3 she would as a wild moor pony have had a foal at foot and a foal in belly....... and is Blue and White. Poor filly ... oh did you all know this girl has jumped her cross country? and showjumps?? also that she is a full grown adult n the little filly is only approx 11hh and the saddle digs into her back with the weight load on it...... fails to mention that doesnt she. Disgusting member of the horse society. If you want to pm me on Facebook you know who i am as you have failed to reply to comments but instead deleted them.... I am awaiting your reply.
