Is it just me or was anyone else really disappointed with the photos from hoys this year? i went with the intention of buying loads of pictures from lots of different classes and was really disappointed that most of them were taken at the wrong part of the stride in trot nd they just werent that great! Really disappointed its the biggest show of the year nd i wanted some nice snaps!

They were dreadful. Write to HOYS and ask them to change for next year. Blurry, some championships with no photos at all, horses trotting downhill because the camera was crooked - useless.

Awful photography, some of the other photographers were asking before the event how come they got the job. The downhill slant is easily sorted but the rest is a mess. One of them was boasting that he had only been professional for 2 years and was photographing HOYS, looking at the images, the word professional doesn't belong anywhere in there.

What a big dissapointment. All that hard work and money spent to qualify and then you only get memories cos the photographer is c****p. I really do feel for you all.xx

What a load of rubbish the on-line photos are in our class. Struggling to find a decent one as a momento. Viewed them at HOYS & 3 were blurred so they haven't put them on line. Very UN-professional photographers for a shoew of that caliber. RTI are so much better class compared to Event! Hope they re-instate RTI next year. Have e-mailed HOYS to complain but doubt if they'll listen.

I agree the pictures were absolute garbage. Even last year I didn't get any from RTI as they were rubbish.
The only way forward is to complain to HOYS and hopefully they will do something about it.

I agree re HOYS photos. Day ones not good and haven't bought one even though we had two ponies there. The Event Photographer's evening ones I looked at on their website don't seem too bad. Bring back RTI I say !

Is it that the job goes to the highest bidder with no regard to the quality? I think thats rather rude, they have taken your well earned money to compete at this top show only to provide you with a second rate service when you get there. How heartbreaking to make it to HOYS and not get decent photos, its a moment in a lifetime not to be missed and should be recorded accrodingly. You really need to complain as the only people loosing out are the competitors, HOYS still make their money on it. Demand the quality you deserve. TBH after seeing the photos Equination produced at the North West Champs over the past few weekends, there are photograhers out there capabable of producing quality equestrian images. After speaking with them I realise its beause they seem to seek the perfect picture not just make a quick buck or two from the competitors. I so feel for those who have made it to HOYS and come away without decent pictures.

The working hunter ponies pictures were not good at all , they were all taken at the wrong angle and position. We went with the intent of buying many as it was the last year in the class, and we have bought them from previous years. Unfortunately that was not to be and ended up with none. They def have to change the photographer for this year

I love Jay Photos in devon - at the shows i go to when they're there, there is always good quality photos - what a shame HOYS isn't in Devon, as i know who I'd recommend!

i agree. i had thought that i had jumped a very good round at hoys, and obviously as i am on the pony i did not get to see the actual round. so the day after i go to the photographers ask for sundays 14h WHP and i was shocked to find not one well timed or good quality photo. Even my mums were better and she is definatly not the most talented photographer. definatly should change it for next year.

we did get some good pictures, well the lighting of them was a bit stange, very bright. i do hope that equinational do it this year as they do more with the photograph, they can edit them, put them on bags, keyrings, to me i would prefere to beable to take my photo round on a keyring aswell as have it at home in a frame. whoever the photographers were in 2006 were pretty rubbish in my opinion, as i got 2 rubbish photos and only brought them 4 the memory to say i went.

I gather that unfortunately the photographers from last year are contracted until 2011. Hope they have been practicing all winter!

sorry but i think that RTI are rip off merchants the amount they charge for copyright release! Event photographer has done RW for several years and usually get good quality pictures from them, without having to pay to use them on websites. Agree though that you cant beat Equinational
