Is it ever acceptable to wear a navy jacket for a Small Riding Horse Class or should it always be tweed? Is a tweed cutaway with a waistcoat OK? Also, am I OK to use a coloured browband if wearing a tweed? Thank you!

Tweed jackets are usual for daytime , but the SHGB rules say that ladies can wear navy or black at county shows
Navy is correct for afternoon / evening performances and also Hoys .
Coloured browband is correct for a riding horse.

Hi ... For your riding horse you will come under the BSHA rules not SHGB ... Yes coloured brow band is acceptable, not a bling one as your RH will be a little more workman like in his way of going, than a hack. So keep it subtle . I have copied this for you from the BSHA rule book COUNTY SHOWS – RIDING HORSES Bowlers for gentlemen, navy or black hunting cap for ladies with ribbons inside Jackets – ladies blue, black or tweed jacket with neat collar and tie – gentlemen tweed Everything else as above for cobs Showing cane EVENING PERFORMANCE – RIDING HORSES Silk top hats for ladies and gentlemen Correctly tied hunting stock with pin Gentlemen black hunting tails, breeches and boots Ladies black or navy jacket, breeches and boots Showing cane Button Hole www.britishshowhorse.org/index.php?option=com_content&view=frontpage&Itemid=1Hope that helps you x

Thank you! So I would be OK with a navy jacket I suppose! I like the Mears County - the cutaway. Mainly because I had it when I had my Intermediate. Decisions!!
