Hi all, can anyone tell me what the judge is looking for in Coloured classes. I don't own a coloured but I have always been curious about this.

Hi, My girl came 2nd in coloured last Sunday, I suppose they look for the same as they do in other classes, confirmation, paces, movement etc, they must go on markings too. The horse that beat mine was an appy with very unusual makings who had quite a mind of his own trotting back towards the judge. She corrected him straight away and won the class

Conformation, markings - some judges like a classical marked with equal marks but others like the more dotted about markings, also manners come into play!

conformation, manners, same as other class really. lils on here is the best person to ask , she breeds and shows coloureds. i was always told marking should not come in to play, but im willing to be corrected. my boy does well in showing classes (in hand at the moment). he has fab conformation, and is well marked, but if markings dont come into play, he has many attributes and if he was all bay i think he could hold his own in a show pony class.

Coloured classes are judged in exactly the same way as any other "solid" class. Colour & Markings only come into account if it is a "Colour & Markings" Class.
